The  University of Manchester Social Anthropology department in cooperation with the North West Doctoral Training Scheme are proud to be hosting the 5th Royal Anthropological Institute Postgraduate conference, to take place on June 4-5, 2015. This year’s conference theme is Anthropology and the Politics of Engagement.

We invite postgraduate students Manchester_University_Logo_(2)from anthropology and other related disciplines, across the UK and elsewhere, to submit work relevant to our theme.

In order to showcase emerging research and promote knowledge production by postgraduate and junior scholars, a selection of papers from the conference will be featured in a special issue of Anthropology Matters.

UPDATE (02/03/2015) Due to the positive response the conference has received, we are extending the deadline for call for papers to March 15th. This is to give the chance to people who did not have time to submit an abstract or heard about the event too late to send us their work. So please feel free to spread the news and invite people whose research is relevant to the conference.

UPDATE (16/03/2015) – The call for papers is now closed.
